Built with solid East Indian rosewood back and sides, a solid Sitka spruce top with scalloped X-bracing, and a genuine mahogany neck, the 000-28EC offers rich, articulate tone with a slightly scooped midrange that suits everything from fingerstyle to strumming. The 24.9" scale and 1 3/4" nut width make it an effortless player, while the soft V neck profile—based on Clapton’s personal preference—adds a vintage-correct feel in the hand.
This guitar has superb clarity and warmth, with a dynamic range that responds beautifully to player touch. Whether you're recording, writing, or playing live, the 000-28EC has the kind of versatility and subtlety that’s made it a go-to model for many acoustic players and songwriters.
Condition-wise, this one is exceptionally clean and in excellent to near mint condition. It presents almost like a new guitar with just the lightest signs of handling. The frets show virtually no wear, the neck is true, and the setup is comfortable to play. No cracks, no dings, no modifications. A small area of binding on the rear top waist was starting to separate (which is a common occurrence on modern Martins) but this has been repaired neatly so shouldn't come away at any point in the foreseeable future.
The inclusion of a Martin Thinline Gold+Plus pick up system is an added bonus for live work. This was a factory option offered by Martin though we can't say for sure whether it left the factory with this installed or whether it was added later but the work is exceptionally neat and looks like it was done at the factory.
Comes in its original Martin hardshell case with plush interior. Case is also in excellent condition.
