The body combines a thermally aged Sitka spruce top with solid mahogany back and sides, together with pre-war style scalloped X-bracing. This produces an open and responsive voice with a strong warm midrange and considerably more depth and projection than its compact dimensions might suggest. It works equally well for fingerstyle playing or flatpicking and strumming with plenty of punch and headroom.
A comfortable C profile mahogany neck, short 24 7/8" scale length and 1 11/16" nut width give the LG-47 an easy and familiar feel. The Santos rosewood fingerboard and bridge, bone nut and saddle, aged nickel Kluson tuners and distinctive oversized pickguard complete a specification that feels authentically vintage while remaining thoroughly practical for everyday use.
Atkin’s aged nitrocellulose finish features attractive and realistic lacquer checking, recreating the appearance and tactile quality of a well preserved vintage guitar. Taking the factory ageing into account, the guitar itself remains in mint condition with no notable signs of use from its single previous owner.
An LR Baggs M1 soundhole pickup has been installed, providing a warm and natural amplified sound. Its body sensitive design captures both the strings and movement of the soundboard, making this an excellent guitar for live performance as well as purely acoustic use. Comes with the original Atkin hard shell case and Certificate of Authenticity.
