A superb quality Fender Custom Shop ’54 Tele reissue from 2018. With its two-piece ash body, chunky C neck profile and tastefully relic’d honey blonde finish this Tele looks every bit as good as it plays and sounds. This Custom Shop recreation incorporates a few modern features to offer greater playability and tonal configuration over the original ’54 spec. The 10 in fretboard radius with medium jumbo frets (as opposed to the vintage 7.25 in radius with narrow frets) facilitates better string bending, while the modern wiring (neck, both, bridge) gives maximum tonal range.
The pick-ups are both hand-wound with a ’51 Nocaster pick-up in the bridge and a Twisted Tele pick-up in the neck, and sound superb. They deliver all of the vintage Tele tone you’d expect. From clean to overdrive this guitar covers a lot of bases like all good Teles.
It’s a really nice weight too coming in at 7lb 3oz so is one you could gig with for hours on end. The lightweight ash body has a lot of natural resonance and is loud and chimey unplugged.
All in all a really great Custom Shop Tele. Comes with the original Custom Shop tweed case, COA, floor traveller and all of the case candy.
